Very decent man. I attended his mother’s funeral in Perth a few weeks ago and heard locally that he has also lost his uncle recently too – the ashes were scattered at St Johnstone’s ground last week in a ceremony on the pitch. I see him regularly at our away matches and like many people in the media he really does support his local team.”

Having been personally threatened after the Jardine fatwas he argued successfully that all SPL members should vote accordingly.
