One only has to look at the recent “Protests” in Paris to see this. In the suburb of Sarcelles, known as “little Jerusalem” because it is home to 15,000 Jews, a kosher grocery and a Jewish-owned pharmacy were torched. A week earlier, a synagogue on Rue de la Roquette near the Bastille in central Paris came under attack while its congregation cowered inside. Demonstrators were heard chanting, “Death to Jews.”

But it appears Scotland is not immune to this worrying trend.

Nir Biton posted a prayer to his former brothers and sisters in the IDF for God to look after them on his Facebook page.

This was met buy so much vitriolic anger by Celtic fans that he was forced to remove it.

Sean Gallagher was so filled with hate at Jewish footballers that he a Celtic supporter went to a RANGERS European game to invade the pitch.

In scenes reminiscent to the recent Maccabi Haifa v Lille game Celtic fan Sean Gallagher ran on to the pitch during a Rangers vs Maccabi Haifi match draped in a Palestinian flag and wearing a Pope T-shirt.

He was caught by police as he tried to handcuff himself to a goalpost.

Gallagher had admitted a sectarian breach of the peace when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Midway through the game’s second-half, Gallagher had jumped out of the 45,000-strong crowd and ran onto the pitch.

He managed to get to the goal at the Broomloan Road end where he tried to cuff himself to a post.

Gallagher shouted “Tiocfaidh Ar La”, meaning “Our Day Will Come” – the unofficial slogan of the IRA – at Rangers fans.They were “extremely annoyed” and had to be restrained. The game was eventually restarted after a four-minute delay.

The game was being transmitted by the BBC to millions of viewers across the country.

Fiscal John Bedford, prosecuting, told the court: “He ran from the left enclosure and was clearly draped in a Palestinian flag.

“He was also wearing a T-shirt showing Pope Benedict and made his way towards the 150 Maccabi fans.

“Gallagher was chased the full length of the pitch and this had a knock on effect in that the game had to be halted.”

He managed to get to the goal at the Broomloan Road end where he tried to cuff himself to a post.

If a deranged Celtic fan could do this in front of a 45,000-strong Rangers crowd then what will they do at Celtic park?.

As if to underline Berkovic’s anger, was the fact that shortly after his departure from Celtic, (the man who released him) Martin O’Neill signed John Hartson who had assaulted the slight Israeli at a training session when both men played for West Ham. Even a quick glance on youtube years later, does nothing to dampen the sheer brutality of the unpremeditated attack on Bekovic.

Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of Her other Realms and Territories, Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith will be in the east end of Glasgow Tomorrow to officially open the Commonwealth Games.

The Foggy Dew has been closed down with immediate effect at an emergency hearing of the city’s licensing board. Police Scotland had to ask licensing chiefs to review the licence after alleged “serious violence” and “sectarian, religious prejudice behaviour” within the premises.

Officers claimed the London Road bar should be closed after a string of incidents, including an alleged serious assault at the weekend.
The licensing board heard how police said there was a “lack of co-operation from management and licence holder” at the East End pub.

Chief Inspector Hilary Sloan said: “The management has completely failed to engage with us and that’s a big issue for us. We can’t predict what may happen in future.

“But there’s a likelihood that there will be further disorder as they have not taken on board any of the recommendations made by us.”
She asked for the closure order to be imposed for “sufficient time “for Police Scotland to return to the board for a review hearing of the premises.

It is the first time that closure order powers, within the licensing legislation, have been used in Glasgow
Granting the order, Councillor Bill Butler said: “The board is satisfied that a closure order is necessary to prevent crime and disorder and secure public safety.”

A man was attacked in Bairds at the pool table by a man with a Glass bottle and several others were seen on CCTV jumping on the man as staff watched.

The police said there was a 15-minute delay between the fight and a call being made for an ambulance, no one at Bairds called the police for assistance.

Police said bar staff had cleaned up the crime scene prior to police arriving, similar to an incident in Bairds in October 2011. Glass and a broken bottle neck, which were heavily blood-stained, were found within the bin and were consistent injured male’s injuries.

“Castle Greyskull”.

She told those planning to catch the Rangers v Livingston game they should

“wrap up warm if they’re heading for Castle Greyskull”.

Castle Greyskull is a derogatory phrase, common on Celtic Internet forums that Celtic fans use to refer to Ibrox the home of Scotland’s most successful football team.

In fact in Celtic Football club had to disown an official history of their 2001 treble-winning season partly due to a reference to Castle Greyskull which they knew would be offensive to their Old Firm rivals.

The BBC News at Ten included a report on the increased number of arrests during Old Firm matches and the rising cost of policing them.

McCoist was shown fielding questions from a female news reporter about violence at last season’s Old Firm games. He replied:

“I didn’t really see any violence at any Old Firm fixtures.”

A close-up image of him smiling was followed by him being asked if he was concerned about fans’ behaviour. McCoist replied:

“The behaviour of fans? No.”

He said:

“Obviously Rangers feel the manager has been hard done by and have decided to take this action.”I’m sure they’ll sit down and sort this problem out. But I will say that I think the BBC have created this problem. At a time when Rangers and Celtic are working to bring people closer together, the BBC have decided to inflame the situation.”

The BBC was forced to apologise to Rangers manager Ally McCoist after what they called

“an editing blunder.”

The BBC admitted that the editing of the piece was inappropriate.

A Beeb spokesman said:

“Overall we stand by the merits of our report revealing the extent of violence after Old Firm derbies and the cost of policing these matches. 

However, we do accept that the sequence involving comments from Rangers’ manager Alistair McCoist could have given the impression that he did not take the issue seriously.

“The BBC accepts that Rangers Football Club and Alistair McCoist treat the issue of violence and disorder surrounding football matches as a very serious matter.

“We accept that offence has been caused by an inappropriate edit in the piece as transmitted and for that we apologise.”

McCoist, said

“I was appalled. The club will not tolerate this type of reporting. Having worked in TV for many years, with the BBC, I know exactly what was done last Friday and I was disgusted with their editing. I am pleased an apology has been issued today.”

This came days after the club also criticised BBC Radio Scotland’s show Off The Ball ran a poll asking it was whether it was Super Ally or Fat Sally following the Ramsdens Cup defeat from Queen of the SouthSuper Ally or Fat Sally, which questioned if supporters still backed McCoist.

“Scots radio star Stuart Cosgrove was booted off a station platform by cops for singing anti-Rangers songs”

reported as

“have you seen a handsome hun, No, No.”

I don’t think they will be thinking it is so funny, when they no doubt have to explain to the Criminal investigation into apparent sectarian motivated mass killing by bombing by Police Scotland which must surely follow after such a vile comment!

“The attacks on JK Rowling for her donation to Better Together were, in fact, down to a very few people whose accounts no one could trace back to having anything to do with the Yes campaign,” said Ms McKelvie, who chairs Holyrood’s European and External Relations Committee.

“Whoever made them – there are interesting conspiracy theorists who think it might all have been down to secret service plants – should be totally condemned. I have no time for this kind of small-minded viciousness.”
